![]() I endeavor to pass on the love and knowledge of music and the flute to my students, as my teachers imbued it in me. My teaching is deeply indebted to my own flute teachers: William Wurtz, Walter Smith, Maralyn Prestia, Karl (Fritz) Kraber, Walfrid Kujala, and Leone Buyse. We love Chamber Music at Capital, and encourage our students to participate as fully as their schedules allow! All students are encouraged to explore playing piccolo, alto flute, and bass flute. Flute majors study Taffanel-Gaubert's Daily Exercises, scales in a wide variety of configurations, sight-reading of duets, repertoire from all musical eras, orchestral excerpts, and more. The Capital University Flute Studio embraces both traditional and contemporary teaching and learning styles. Additionally duties include conducting the Capital University Flute Choir, and coaching Woodwind Quintets and the Flute Quartet. I am delighted to combine teaching, performing, and recording in my career! At the Capital University Conservatory of Music, my courses include Flute Lessons Music Pedagogy Woodwind Methods Flute Literature and Introduction to Music through the Lives and Music of Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms.
